Inside the stone is just under a month away – Read the ancient program on 13 April next year. in Altilia (CS), known for centuries as the town of stonecutters.
Right in this suggestive place in Calabria, overlooking the Savuto river valley, on the ancient route of the Roman Via Annia Popilia, on the occasion of World Latin Day, the Municipal Administration and the AICC-sect. Ancient and Modern, in collaboration with the Department of Humanistic Studies of Unical (He said), and with the contribution of the Pro Loco Altilia and the SeminAria culture associations, Endless Spaces, offer a study day, of historical-literary and artistic-musical reflection, to promote knowledge, the enhancement and promotion of the cultural heritage of the territory.
Inside the stone is intended as a sort of anticipation for the next "Festa dell'Antico" which will take place in August 2023 always in Altilia. In recent years countless localities in the process of depopulation, in particular in the internal Apennine areas, they have activated virtuous processes of rebirth by focusing on the rediscovery and valorization of their roots. The idea that supports the project – edited by Antonio De Rose, Gabriele Ferrari and Pierluigi Pedretti – is to delve into the persistence of classical culture and ancient traditions in the present time. In facing life today and projecting towards the future it is important, especially for the younger ones, acquire full awareness of one's history. For these reasons, students from both the University of Calabria and schools in the Cosenza area will be called to be active protagonists.: the Liceo Classico “B. Telesio” and the Institute of Higher Education “L. Della Valle”.
